He is Cyril Shimun Alini of Tur Abdin, bishop of Hah. He was still living in 1333 and may have lived until the middle of the fourteenth century. He wrote a lengthy liturgy in forty-two pages, beginning thus: “O Eternal God who art above all,”486 and followed it by an excellent husoyo beginning with, “Praise to the only Father the holy”487 and a third husoyo for the Thursday of the Palm Sunday week, beginning thus, “Praise to the Almighty and powerful.”
